A performance music video is where the artist just sings and dances on screen whereas a narrative music video is where the artist could still be singing and dancing but there will be actors to create a story

Notes from Rob Speranza

Producer is responsible for raising the budget for the product and hiring Live producer tells people how to spend the budget Music videos: Story behind it Making something that is a marketing device Increases an artists popularity Before worrying about costumes, quality, images and lighting, a good music video needs the band’s image, the fanbase, social media, their ‘look’, what do they want?, budget? and who are they? Inspired by the music Be original Think about the audience Film more than you need Make sure people will enjoy it, make sure the performers know what they’re going to be doing If an idea sounds bad at the start it might evolve to sound good  Performance video is just the artist singing and dancing, narrative is where there is a performance and narrative  Promo: Promotional, to help sell the music and the artist
