A music video is a performance on film or videotape of a musical recording accompanied by synchronised actions, such as dramatic interpretation of the lyrics or series of, sometimes surreal, images.  What we see on screen very often matches the lyrics because we either see the artist singing the lyrics plus the images on screen relate to the lyrics also.
