Production of music videos:
1. Artists perform in front of the camera. This is not journalistic or an interview. They do not look off camera. They are looking at the camera to connect with the audience.
2. In terms of non-artist performers, for actors involved with a storyline, they don’t usually look at the camera unless the storyline or concept calls for it.
Camera Activity:
1. Music videos are often not still or static, unless there’s a lot in the frame
Movement, Matching the pace of the music, Moving with the rhythm/ pace of the music, Jibs/ cranes/ ronins/ stead I am/ osmo.

Fast cutting tips:
Faces in shots, our brain can read facial expressions.
The colours on screen may result in our brains needing to adjust to view the screen better.
Add music so that there is no real topic you have to pay attention to.
Resemble elements where two shots of objects or actions that relate to each other.
Let shots flow by noticing the movement of the shots.

As you’re listening ask:
What kind of location would match this music?
What kind of movement?
What kid of lighting?
What kind of framing/ lenses would you use to capture what you are imagining?
Is it a story/ narrative?
Documentation:
Brain dump- Sketches, Idea/thought clouds, inspiration, listening to the track, leading to a script.
Mood boards- Colours shapes, patterns, forms, and what all of these are meant to evoke. Emotions to elicit as a result of them
A good mood board is easy to feel and understand, cohesive
A bad mood board is difficult to image/ portray, disjointed
Storyboards- You need a script before you start storyboarding, Basic drawings of scenes in chronological order.
The Script- shape and form
Music video scripts are often not as narrative as prosaic drama scripts
They often take the form of grids or are formulated with columns one for the song lyrics, one for the song lyrics, one for the corresponding content.
Stop motion music video:
Ideas- It's like a dream, staggered
VFX-
Lighting- Used to see the passing of time, at the start see the sunlight through the window

The artist- Quirky way to promote music so it makes him stand out. He's in black and the girl is in white like the bed so he stands out. They are very different people put together.
